No its not odd to fear death, in fact many people want death to come to them. But I dont think its real common for the average person to not fear death, most of us are not ready to die yet

Wow, thats almost word for word exactly what i think about it. Fearing death is not odd, nor not fearing death, either way is normal

That's been a common answer in this thread, but like Hassun said about a week or so ago, and I'm willing to bet he's right; over half of you will be shakin' in your boots when death comes knocking at your door. Unless you've already looked death in the eye and confronted it, there's no way you can say you don't fear death.

I can say it, because I could've died back in '03. I can say it, with full confidence that I'm not afraid to die. It's suffering that I'm afraid of.

The Question Was Do I Fear Death . I Must Not Because Of All The Risks I Took In The Past Or Will Take In The Future,when Told Ones Job Or Hobbies Or Recreation Will Do You In, You Do It Any Way... Its The Profound Wonder Of Having Got Away With It When Others Did Not... And Contemplating Where They Are Now And What Do They See, Or Even Do They See.
What Others Fear Is Will There Be Some Sort Of Judgement, And Yet Thru It All The Risk Is Taken
yet, the question is ,is it right or wrong to fear death? personally I say neither. what is being sent is the body warning the mind/subconcious It does not want to be life functions terminated. after all the first Imperative programed into all life is to survive be fruitful and multiply. not be food in a world of preditor -prey reality.

its a topic that hard to talk about but if you think of it this way. we are all going to die we just dont know when or how. no one can live forever (unless your some character in a anime/manga). but its easier not to think about it and to live life the way you want to.

Death is nothing to be afraid of. Iagree that it would be really cool to live forever but it cant be like that. Some people are afraid to die because they dont know how they would die, so its usually human nature to fear something they dont know about. But rather than fear try to accept. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not people must accept it.

If anyof you actually know the roots of my sign in name it'd be evident that I don't fear death. However just because I am akin with death doesn't mean that everyone has to be. Don't get me wrong I enjoy life to no end but I'm not scared to progress beyond it either and actually I'm kinda curious to see wht is in store after death. The way I look at it is, if I die and it's really the end then I guess I wont really have to worry about it, but if it's not the end then it must only be the beginning.
