Just wait for the moment death is close to you. You'll see all these 'no' voters screaming for their lives.
It maybe true for some, maybe not; I know that I faced death back when I was strugglin' wit cancer. By all rights, I should b dead; yet here I am. But I wasn' afraid of death then, I was content and at peace; and I'm not afraid of death now. Many scientists say that we start ta die from the moment we r concieved and, ta me, it serves as a reminder ta live life ta its fullest. "Live life like you're gonna die tommorow," that's what one of my uncles useta say. And like I said earlier, I fear not death; but a life not lived. We need ta hold each moment as precious and try ta get as much fulfillment outta life as possible, ta try and have a sense of accomplishment.

I dunno, but maybe ppl r afraid of death 'cause they fear the unknown. They fear what may lie beyond that veil that covers their eyes when they take their last breath. History has shown that man has had fears of the things that r unknown ta him, the mysteries that surround him. Death is the greatest mystery of all, so it's probably very natural ta fear it. Yet for some, like me, death is met wit indifference, deeper understandin', curiosity, even wonder and I think that is very natural too. It is the pioneers of history that often make discoveries 'cause they dared ta go places or do things that others would not. If they had any fears, they set them aside in order ta glean a better understandin' of the mysteries that surrounded them. I feel that death will ever b apart of life and that life would never survive w/o it. They r two sides of the same coin, so ta speak.

i see most of you people voted on "no" but i got to admit that most of them we'll do as Hassun described ... i mean it's not the matter of "I DON'T FEAR DEATH" ... no at all ... this thing took me a long time (years) till i reached the conclusion of me not fearing it .. at first it is the thing that you see people fear of the most .. but as an individual perspective of mine on it i'd say i don't ... I live in Iraq .. everyday i walk out of my home there's the chance i never come back again .. it's not something in my hand .. this is what i call my destiny .. i'm not in regret at all because i'm living here .. because it taught me how human beings are weak and their life can be easily ended so let the guardian of death collect my soul when my time is to come .. no need to fear it ... as i believe that the more one fears death the nearer his soul is to be harvested and the more one doesn't fear it but acknowledge its greatness the more life is enjoyable to live ...

Cool Re: Is it wrong (or odd) to not fear death?

    Well,

My answer might be similar to the others here, but ... No ... I am not afraid to die, I mean ... Everyone has to die one way or the other ... No-one can live forever ...

If I have to die soon or than or now, It won't bother me at all, Death is opposite to birth, So if I have experienced Birth ... Surely Death might be something exciting ...

On the other hand I also wonder about people who I'll leave behind if I die now or sooner ...

But there are times when you want to live aswell ... When you want to live your life good ... So it's sort of hard to choose.

A live unlived is a wasted ball of flesh in my opinion. I can totally agree with you. Do not fear death, but fear a life without accomplishment or fulfillment.

Would you rather die with a sense of pride, knowing you've achieved your goals before you pass on, or would you rather die a dog's death; knowing that you spent an entire lifetime procrastinating or just being lethargic?

To die....human must live for unknown lenght of time. The destiny one's shape will determine their fate to death. It may be natural or accidental, but human will eventually die in the end but the life cycle will continue.

i do fear death in a way, but i accept that i will not live forever, and death is only the new beginning (cheesy i know but still), and if you believe in religion strongly enough, then you will expect to reach the afterlife, so in my opinion, no it's not weird or unnatural to fear death....

i really dont fear death anymore. its going to be unexpected so i dont know why anyone would spend there entire life worrying about something that could happen tomm. or in 50 years.
i guess i use to but i was recently in a wreck and totaled my car and i guess thats the only time i can say i was really freaked out but i wasnt worried about dying i was worried about how much trouble id be in.

What about you guys? Are you afaraid to die? Do you think its odd when someone says they want to die? Or how they want to die?
