in my opinion it a Double edge sword because it sometimes hurt the Gay community cause some of them don't act that way in public plus the Fangirls are stalker like on wanting more and more to the point of going too far like having rape scenes
So far, I have found only one yoai that kinda does show the uke a little more masculine than most ukes. (especially since he's in denial and even tho him and the seme have been together countless of times... he still gets urked and shows the seme that he CAN be a "man"...) Which is 'Sekaiichi Hatsukoi'. But I like Yaoi, Yuri, Ecchi, and all that good stuff. Totally a girl. And totally bi. Some are distasteful, and very few are very good. I just say it all depends and it's just anyone's opinion.

I'm going to come out and say it now: I am not gay. I am not bi. I am straight, but I am probably one of the most open minded people on site. The way I see it, in agreement witht the post before mine, is that this is indeed a double edged sword. The thing is that the Yaoi may give some outlook on the life of gays, but it can also hurt them because, as forementioned, it doesn't always live up to the expectations of the fans.
But looking on the up side, it can also help alleviate some of the pressure felt by LGB people, helping peple to undestand(and sometime, give more reason to hate). As always, despite my lack of higher education, my reasoning and logic tell me that this is both good and bad, but is, in my classic line in this thread, a 'goddamned powder keg'. One spark and boom. I'll be doing some further research on the subject before giving any more of my opinion.
