Very good poem it was so interesting it was like a page out of a great book.
Beyond the Bounds
The first part is easy.
Close your eyes, take a breath, step
outside of the inside, beyond the bounds
(past the pale)
that fence you in.
You've been here too long, stuck blind in
the wasteland of your life;
the melody of dawn calls you, and
the song is too loud to ignore.
The second part's a bit more tricky:
a golden glow bathes this new world, but
your eyes aren't used to the light.
Your body, now near weightless
(wonderfully warm)
isn't sure how to handle its unrestricted mobility.
You breathe in sweet fragrances you can't recognize
as your nostrils have grown accustomed
to only the stench of decaying failure, which
stinks of rotted dreams.
The newness of it all is frightening
(joy of life is not something you readily accept), and
it would be so easy to run back to
the stagnant hell you just left.
Don't.
The third and final part is the most important.
Keep moving.
Run, fly, dance, or leap--just don't stop.
To stand still
(to become static) is to die; this
world will begin to look a lot like the old one
if you grow content to sit and watch it pass.
Don't stop until you find that song, that freedom,
that life that is rightfully yours, when
you lay safely in the arms that were meant to hold you.
I'm waiting for you...
