Beyond the Bounds (Entry for Contest)

Beyond the Bounds

I dream of a world
Beyond that of what I know,
From the depths of the oceans
To the mountains capped with snow.
Within those dreams
I am able to see
What life would be like
If from these bindings I was free.

I feel lost,
I feel trapped,
My spirit spent,
My power tapped,
But most of all
I feel unsure,
For I know my binds are not
What once they were.

What is it exactly
That now has me bound?
I'll tell you once I know,
The answer is not yet found.
