Yeah, a lot of those bands are not very well known...but they're definetly real metal.

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, The Lord Weird Slough Feg, Manilla Road, Black Sabbath, and Twisted Tower Dire are excellent examples of good old school heavy metal, no keyboards or technical crap in there at all. It's a fun genre, and recommended to pretty much anyone who's into metal. If you like metal I don't think it's possible to dislike this genre.

Power Metal is another favorite genre of mine. It's usually fantasy-themed stuff like dragons or wizards or epic quests. It originates in Europe and most bands are from there. I recommend DragonForce, Dragonland, Edguy, Gamma Ray, old Helloween, Steel Attack, and Blind Guardian out of everything there.

Some of my other recommendations were Black Metal or Death Metal. Black Metal is not for everyone, it's themes are rather suggestive (satanic, anti-religious, war, etc), but it is enjoyable to some people. My favorite bands from this genre are Emperor and Psycroptic.

Death Metal I don't know much about---it is also rather satanic and anti-religious, but some of it is quite enjoyable. I don't have much experience here, but Nile is highly recomemnded. This band does NOT sing about satanic themes, but they use an Ancient Egyptian theme in their songs and albums. Very interesting.

they would be german metal, i listen to alot of those bands i guess i didnt know the names of them. im also geting into the japanese rock such as dir en grayand miyavi
