The 1998 Americanized version of Godzilla wasn't, in my opinion, a bad movie at all. It grossed nearly three times its budget. I'll admit that any remake can't deter my love for "Godzilla Vs. Megalon" (featuring Jet Jaguar). That had to have been one of the best King of Monsters movies to be made.

I don't know how to class any beloved movie that I've seen as bad. I guess I'd select "Cop and a Half", that 1993 Burt Reynolds film that was pummeled with rotten reviews. A critic's job is to be excruciatingly critical though, most of them can't sit through 5 minutes of a movie without thinking they've found 20 plot holes, unnecessary actions or such. Some movies like that are comforting. If you're able to enjoy a movie then you can waive the minor missteps the film may've taken. Another I guess would be "Beverly Hills Ninja".
