Like the title, which horror game do you think is the best? And don't forget to tell me why! Best: only one game/series. Remember you can only pick one.
I like Fatal Frame series (project zero). I have nightmares for almost one week after playing the game. You have nothing to defend yourself but an old camera. They have good storylines (ritual and always ritual). And imagine how a ghost, coming out of nowhere, ready to pluck your heart out! Errm, Scary.

I don't know exactly what best is supposed to mean considering this is an opinion of someone. But I liked the game The Thing based off the movie. It was freaky because your squad members could be infected at any time during the game. You could be walking with one of your men, then out of no where they go crazy and turn into a creature. There was a lot of suspense in the game and that is what made it great. Plus it tied up the ending to the movie, which was a sweet bonus.
Mines has to be the good old Resident Evil games! An original idea with fairly simple dynamics to the game that actually work and you've got an intstant classic. I can always remember the first time those dogs jumped through the windows, I was playing it in the dark on my own and I shit myself (not literally as I've had control of my bowel's for some time now!) or that first Cutscene of the 'Licker'. Purley amazing! Sadly after Nemesis, the series got a bit stretched out, but thankfully Wesker was there to add some entertainment!
Speaking of which, the Nemisis has gotta be one of my top 3 Gaming Badguys.

Hardcore RE fan me! I just liked the idea of strategy over the old fashioned shoot-em-ups. I've completed most of them, it's just the ones with those annoying levels that I have no time for.
Also I know it does'nt count but Stubbs the Zombie, it was classed under horror when I baught it! Amazing game, funny and it was strange to see it from the zombies POV for a change.
(...maybe I should brauden my horizons beyond zombies...)
best horror game is gut to be the Fatal Frame series,played one of em damn thing scared me half to death,this was some time ago tho i havent played it recently.
