    Best. Soundtrack. EVER.

I know you've done it. You've gone to see a movie and at the end you found yourself staying to watch all the credits to find out who did those awesome songs you heard while watching the movie. Then you went right out and bought the soundtrack.

Well I (and the rest of AO) want to know: what are your most favorite movie soundtracks? Tell us the name of the soundtrack and give a track listing so we can get an idea of the CD's goodness. Don't forget to include a little about the album also.

I'll start it off with a countdown of my three favorite soundtracks. All of which came out in the early 90's (my college years). I still listen to them regularly and in some cases have had to repurchase due to friends borrowing but never returning. That's how good they are!

    3. Judgement Night

    1. Just Another Victim - Helmet/House Of Pain
    2. Fallin' - Teenage Fanclub/ De La Soul
    3. Me, Myself & My Microphone - Living Colour/Run D.M.C.
    4. Judgment Night - Biohazard/Onyx
    5. Disorder - Slayer/Ice-T
    6. Another Body Murdered - Faith No More/Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.
    7. I Love You Mary Jane - Sonic Youth/Cypress Hill
    8. Freak Momma - Mudhoney/Sir Mix-A-Lot
    9. Missing Link - Dinoasur Jr./Del The Funky Homosapien
    10. Come And Die - Therapy?/Fatal
    11. Real Thing - Pearl Jam/Cypress Hill

All the rap/rock bands out there (think Limp Bizkit and the such) should be sending a percentage of their take to the producers of this soundtrack. The movie was pretty good, but the soundtrack is unbelievable. My favorites from the soundtrack are "Another Body Murdered," "Just Another Victim" and "Freak Momma" although every single track is gold.

    2. Cool World

    1. Real Cool World - David Bowie
    2. Play With Me - Thompson Twins
    3. Disappointed - Electronic
    4. Papua New Guinea (7' Original) - The Future Sound of London
    5. N.W.O. - Ministry
    6. The Witch - The Cult
    7. Sex On Wheelz (Glamour Dyke Mix) - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
    8. Ah-Ah (Mix 1) - Moby
    9. Mindless - Mindless
    10. Next Is The E (Long Arms Mix) - Moby
    11. Do That Thang (Polite Mix) - Da Juice
    12. Her Sassy Kiss - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
    13. Greedy - Pure
    14. Under - Brian Eno
    15. Industry And Seduction - Tom Bailey

In the interest of complete openness, the movie blew big chunks. The soundtrack, though ****ing owns. It brought techno and industrial to the big screen. The mix of styles is awesome. I'm partial to "Disappointed," "N.W.O.," "Next is the E," "The Witch" and "Greedy." But again, all the tracks are great.

Amazon.com page to listen to samples: Amazon.com: Songs From Cool World: Music: David Bowie,Thompson Twins,Electronic,Future Sound of London (FSOL),Ministry,The Cult,My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult,Moby,Mindless,Brian Eno

    and now...drumroll please....

    1. The Crow

    1. Burn - The Cure
    2. Golgotha Tenement Blues - Machines Of Loving Grace
    3. Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots
    4. Dead Souls - Nine Inch Nails
    5. Darkness - Rage Against The Machine
    6. Color Me Once - Violent Femmes
    7. Ghostrider - Rollins Band
    8. Milktoast - Helmet
    9. The Badge - Pantera
    10. Slip Slide Melting - For Love Not Lisa
    11. After The Flesh - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
    12. Snakerider - The Jesus And Mary Chain
    13. Time Baby III - Medicine
    14. It Can't Rain All The Time - Jane Siberry

Oh my ****ing god, is this soundtrack the greatest ever. I can't think of a bad thing to say about the music or even begin to pick out my favorite tracks, but the Nine Inch Nails cover of Joy Division's "Dead Souls" is close. It's all perfection to me. Oh and the movie ****ING ROCKED!!!!
If you are a music lover (especially one of my generation) you owe it to the world to own this album.

    Re: Best. Soundtrack. EVER.

I have a quick question before I post, does it have to be a movie ST or can it be a television series? or anime series? Game ost?

Doesn't matter here's mine: Pretty cliche but.. Lords of Dog Town!

    1. Death Or Glory - Social Distortion
    2. Hair Of The Dog - Nazareth
    3. I Just Want To Make Love To You - Foghat
    4. Fox On The Run - Sweet
    5. Motor City Madhouse - Ted Nugent
    6. Turn To Stone - Joe Walsh
    7. One Way Out - The Allman Brothers Band
    8. Fire - Jimi Hendrix
    9. Space Truckin' - Deep Purple
    10. Success - Iggy Pop
    11. Suffragette City - David Bowie
    12. Iron Man - Black Sabbath
    13. Nervous Breakdown - Rise Against
    14. 20th Century Boy - T.Rex
    15. Maggie May - Rod Stewart
    16. Wish You Were Hear - Sparklehorse

I know it's a newish film, but the soundtrack was something that really hit me hard, something you can listen to no matter what, mood/place/weather/situation your in and can just relax and listen to the music, not a care in the world!

    Re: Best. Soundtrack. EVER.

Damn, you already mentioned The Crow. =\

I can't really pick a single soundtrack. but I'll just post one of my favorites.

The Soundtrack to the best comedy off ALL TIME:
    Monty Python's Life of Brain

    1. "Introduction"
    2. "Brian Song"
    3. "Three Wise Men"
    4. "Brian Song" (continued)
    5. "Sermon on the Mount" (Big Nose)
    6. "Harry the Haggler"
    7. "Stoning"
    8. "Ex"-Leper
    9. "You Mean You Were Raped?" (Nortius Maximus)
    10. "Link"
    11. "In the Amphitheatre" (Loretta)
    12. "Short Link"
    13. "Romans Go Home"
    14. "Missing Link"
    15. "Revolutionary Meeting"
    16. "Very Good Link / Ben"
    17. "Audience with Pilate"
    18. "Meanwhile"
    19. "The Prophets"
    20. "Beard Salesman"
    21. "Lobster Link"
    22. "Brian's Prophecy"
    23. "Lobster Link II"
    24. "The Hermit" (Simon the Holy Man)
    25. "He's Not the Messiah"
    26. "Sex Link"
    27. "He's a Very Naughty Boy"
    28. "Lighter Link"
    29. "Pilate Sentences Brian"
    30. "Nisus Wettus"
    31. "Pilate with the Crowd" (Welease Woger)
    32. "Nisus Wettus with the Jailers"
    33. "Release Brian"
    34. "Not So Bad Once You're Up"
    35. "Reg Salutes Brian"
    36. "Cheeky is Released"
    37. "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"
    38. "Closing"

Total length: 51 minutes and 51 seconds.

'Tis quite a collection of all the songs and many of the funniest scenes in the film.
Absolute highlights are "Stoning" (If anyone says Jehova one more time!) and "Audience with Pilate" (Bigus Dickus!) and "Beard Salesman" (You're supposed to haggle!).

Funny thing, the version I have seems to have a different number of tracks. Even without the added tracks of the re-release.

I'd prefer to leave the anime stuff to the anime sections. Game, movie, TV, book, infomercial -as long as the soundtrack is cool, let's hear about it.

    Speaking of Game soundtracks:

    Jet Set Radio Future

    1. The Concept Of Love
    2. Fly Like A Butterfly
    3. Funky Dealer
    4. Shape Da Future
    5. Teknopathetic
    6. Oldies But Happies
    7. Like It Like This Like That
    8. I Love Love You (JSRF Version)
    9. Baby T (JSRF Version)
    10. Humming The Bassline (D.S. Remix)
    11. Rock It On (D.S. Remix)
    12. Sneakman (Toronto Mix)
    13. What About The Future
    14. Bokfresh
    15. Let Mom Sleep (No Sleep Remix)
    16. That's Enough (B.B. Rights Mix)
    17. Sweet Soul Brother (B.B. Rights Mix)
    18. Grace & Glory (B.B.M.H. Mix)
    19. Jet Set Medley Future
    20. Jet Set Station #2
    21. Jet Set Groove #3
    22. Jet Set Groove #4

JSRF is probably one of the top games you've never played, but it's a whole bunch of cel-shaded fun, and the soundtrack has some excellent beats. It makes the game that much more fun to play.

Just remember that it's sung by a group of people who have just been crucified.

It's probably the only good track on the CD
