Classic Console Game may become Hollywood Movie!!!

Grumble Grumble Grumble

As a sign of the times, Hollywood has become more and more desperate for new ideas that might attract a movie audience, with recent titles coming from comic book series, TV series and even Video games...

But does this classic console game title deserve to become a theatrical movie???

Asteroids? What's next Pole Position and Brick Breaker? At least a movie based off something like street fighter or super mario is somewhat tangible (and that's being generous), but for christsakes, ASTEROIDS?! I can't wait to hear the plot for this one cuz as I recall, asteroids had none.

I believe that they were all ready "generous" with their Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros. moves... and they can really keep their gifts.

Myself, I have a hard time seeing what kind of movie would come out of a video game like Asteroids.

why dont they make a movie based on one of the zelda games that might make a interesting movie

For christ's sake, ASTERIODS?
If I remember correctly that's the game where you have a tiny triangle spaceship and you spin around and shoot random space rocks, but if a big one hits you, you die.

And if that's all what the movie was about: That'd be the single greatest movie I would have ever watched - in the humorous sense, of course.

.... odd game choice though, I'd love to see someone do Dig Dug.
EDIT: Dig Dug as a SCI-FI horror. Oh hell yeah.

Ms. Pac Man had her own animated series. I guess asteroids can have its own movie. (Although I swear Hollywood is drawing straws when it comes to determining what games can have movies. Either that or no one could imagine Tetris or Centipede raking in tons of cash

)
