Alexander happens to be the guy for the new Madden cover. He also happens to be one of the best Fantasy players out there. Here's the question: Taken from ESPN's "Daily Quickie," "Between (a) the Madden cover jinx; (b) the curse that happens for almost every free agent who gets a huge payday; and (c) the natural karma boomerang he's due after setting the single-season TD record... How many fantasy football owners with the first overall pick will think twice before drafting Alexander? If only because the guy has every jinx indicator pointed right at him, suggesting a problem-plauged 2006 season." - ESPN's Dan Shanoff Other guys that haven't affected by the Madden cover curse: Marshall Faulk (2003), Donovan Mcnabb (2006), Daunte Culpepper (2002), Michael Vick (2004). All of those guys have been injured, and played awful at one point. Marshall Faulk, Donovan Mcnabb, and Michael Vick have been injured the same year of their cover as well. Ray Lewis (2005 cover), although never injured, has seen a decline in his play and his numbers, and wasn't even selected to the Pro Bowl, along with the rest of his team's defense. So really.... Are you guys going to pick Alexander this year? Depends if you guys believe in curses. As for me.... I don't really believe in any of that crap, but let's just say if I had the #1 pick, I'd get Tomlinson, who can play just as well as Alexander. |
