As I have said before and will say again some who only likes foreign music is as close minded as a man who only likes english. Both have a lot to offer. I also find myself growing fond of South American music.
i personally have a love for american/english rock, and i don't listen to much music in other languages...what are your preferences? i tend to like to understand and be able to sing along to the songs, but i also pop in a japanese or german song every so often. what are your reasons for liking a certain style or language of music?

music doesn't have boundaries...except ones that has lyrics on it. anyway, i would prefer music that i can understand, whether foreign or local.
YYYEEEEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
I prefer to listen to American/British bands. However, most the bands I like are American. However, I do like some J Rock.
I like america music and some anime cds from Japan.
I really like German music, great musicians from Germany, but of course I do listen to American and Japanese, etc. music as well.
What is local to me is foreign to someone else. But the music is music all the same. I tend to know the local music more because I understand it. But I have heard plenty of music that I like the sound of... and I don't understand it (local and foreign) .
My only issue with foreign music with lyrics is.... that I'm leery of enjoying the sound of a song that has a message I wouldn't condone if I understood it. That was one of the good things about my ex. He loved Japanese music, understood most of it, and always found out what he wasn't sure about. So if he was nodding his head to it, I felt pretty safe in assuming the message wasn't anything too outlandish.
... Not Ever Again...
Look i have to give up to anime because so many show have nice compose soundtracks
like the seatbleats of bebop..
