    Her full name is Utada Hikaru and her CD album Utada: Exodus is so cool. ^-^ I love her voice and she is very purty. Oh you might also like the songs of Yoko Kanno - she is Phenomenal. Most of her great songs are on Anime shows. I would recommend you to hear her songs.

    Try her songs from these anime:

    Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
    Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
    Cowboy Bebop
    The Vision of Escaflowne - GREAT MUSIC!!!
    Wolf's Rain

    I am girl and i love the band: Morning Musume. ^-^ also check out Miyavi's songs!

    aside from the ones who've already been mentioned, i'd like to add on - se7en. he's actually korean, but he sings japanese as well, and they truly are awesome. ayumi hamasaki's another notable singer - you should try her songs as well.

    You know they sing in Japanese, too, right? It is not all that great (I don't think... maybe it's just cuz their accents sound strange to me). But here is an MV if you are interested, Axel, considering you asked for Japanese music :

    That way you can decide if you like their Japanese or not hehe

    Re: Good Japanese Bands?

    Gosh, I forgot to point out a great Japanese female singer. >.< Her name is Nami Tamaki, a J Pop singer. She is marvelous. ^^ I love all of her sings, mostly the ones that are in Gundam Seed Destiny. I would recommend you to listen to these songs from that series:

    * Believe

    * Reason

    * Result

    You will love them, they have great music, and the songs are so so so meaningful. That is why i love her songs so much. ^^

    One more:

    Takanori Makes Revolution, also called as T.M.Revolution is a great singer ^-^;; His name is Takanori Nishikawa, hence Takanori in the Band name. I really love his songs. He sang the song in Kenshin: Heart of the Sword - great song!!!
