Awww come on there not that bad...

Saw was more funny than any thing IMO ,tho the Exorsist was a bit freaky ill give you that.

Don't get me wrong, I love gore movies. I just feel that a HORROR movie should instill HORROR into the viewer. It should make you afraid of the dark! It should make you wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat and hug your pillow tighter. It should make you afraid to be alone.

It should make you want to take a camping trip to the middle of the haunted woods with your eclectic group of friends, split up, and look for the source of the screams . . .

I think most (both new and old) come out crappy and they arent scary.. But some of them make you think afterward and make you not want to sleep.. All I mean is that the graphic on most are horrible.. the Ideas and great.. but sometimes corny.
    Thank you Lasura!

Yes, this is exactly what a horror should be like, but nowadays movies with the title "Horror" are just bloodfests with some tits thrown in. They just don't give the same sense of fear anymore.

    Re: Horror Films?

Good question.... I don't know. There are good and bad in all.
I love some of the older one, because they could draw in with the story and hold you with the suspense. Effects were not as "good" then, so you had to draw more on your inner fears. Lets face we all know that sometime what goes on inside your head in a H_ll more scary than what you see before you.
The newer movies have "better" effects, but sometimes the effects over power the story, and the actors. Then there are many newer movies that have great effects, but that is all that can be said.
Then there are the ones in between. The Movies not quite so old, but no really new anymore.
I think maybe... The "old" one & "the in-between ones.
Old ones like.. Dracula, Frankenstein, Phantom of the opera.
In-between ones like.. The Exorcist, Halloween, Ghost Story, (and my Mom likes) My bloody Valentine (go figure). One of my guilty pleasure in-between movies is Prom night, it's kinda bad I know, but I watch it when it's on.
I also like the Japanese horror movies. I prefer them in their pure form, no dubbing, I find it makes the suspense more palpable. One of my favorite is "A tale of two sisters".
