It's always been like that for me. Nowadays all the English horror films that have come out have been remakes for foreign films, or already classic films in America , and, well..have been doing a horrible job at remaking them.

Shutter Island, Midnight Meat Train, Home Movies and The Crazies (which was a remake)were an exception to this trend.

The perfect example is Let the Right One In. That was a really well made vampire film and was the best I've seen in a long time. Not even a little over a year and they're already doing an English remake for it. Even though the girl who played Hit Girl in Kick-Ass is playing the vampire, I'm still quite skeptical about how it will turn out.

My favorite foreign horror is The Tale of Two Sisters and Sauna.

the entire masters of horror series...yes, it's not really a "movie" but it have similar features in comparison, it's like a tv movie, so technically it is a movie.

not that much...old ones are so horrifying that some even got officially banned from other countries. even some episodes of master of horror were also censored and even banned.

true...and i also notice that horror films today are no longer mysterious, suspenseful, and thrilling. and it doesn't focus more on the story.
