Mika Nakashima is a good artist. She plays Nana in the movie adaptation of Ai Yazawa's manga, Nana.

    (She's really pretty too.)

    I would recommend Gackt.
He has very good songs i.e "Junigatsu ai no uta" or in English "December Love Song"
    Gackt-junigatsu ai no uta
Though he is Jpop,he is also Jrock aswell.

...Don't FALL for his face,he's made of plastic D:<

My god!! Can you be less specific!? Theres just so many great artists out there!!

As for what I can recommend:

-L'Arc-en-Ciel: You might know them from "Full Metal Alchemist"s 2nd OP, "READY STEADY GO!!"
-Gackt: I only know them thanx to SquareEnix's "FFVll:AC -Dirge of Cerberus". Somethimes you find a great artist(s) through unexpected places.
-JAM Project: OK, if you love anime than you should've atleast heard one of their songs.
    -High and Mighty Color
    -Pillows
    -Orange Range: Heard some questionable rumors about them recently...not sure whats going on. ^^;
    -Asian Kung-fu Generation
    -FLOW

    ...and the list goes on.
->:Be descriptive in your posts or its like you didnt post at all:<-

I am a big fan of Kotoko's work. She has a lot of songs for anime op. and end. themes.
You might want to try Re-sublimity and Suppuration Core.

    KAT-TUN- YouTube

    Orange Range- YouTube

    Namie Amuro- YouTube

    YUI- YouTube

    Rie- FuYouTube
