Diamond in the Rough | Re: The lost and forgotten or those considered classics? zelda- really hated this, "well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me princess!". Duh.. pac man- i loved to watch it when i was a wee kid, but now i can't remember how good or bad it was...If my memory serves me correctly, Mrs. Pacman is also on the show..And the "floating rags"(yeah i call pacman's enemies as floating rags coz i dunno if they even had names) served a baddie overlord... super mario brothers- pretty decent take on mario..."swing your arms from side to side..." mega man- not really good but at least it wasn't as bad as the first one mentioned. ![]() heman- Now this is a real classic, one of the greatest during its time. I used to have some of the old skool he-man toys, they're still with me but all of them are maimed... "He-man!!!! He-man!!!!" |

Diamond in the Rough | Re: The lost and forgotten or those considered classics? AH! the nostalgic air in this thread, i love it. There have already been so many of my fav shows when i was younger mentioned; Super Mario Bros. Super Show (thanks captain Lou), Megaman was sick, All the sonic series, He-Man, Captain N rocked, Voltron was gnarly, aswell as Thundercats and the like. Now some which im surprised havent been mentioned and im amazed are not on tv right now, GI Joe..need i say more, The REAL Ghostbusters (not that lame one with the kids and the gorilla that rode around in a haunted car), The all-stars ( gretsky, jordan, and bo jackson as super heroes), the karate kid animated series, and well there are many more but the last ones im going to leave everyone with is Thundarr the barbarian (not sure if still on boomerang) and James Bond Jr. these shows are AWESOME and i would love to see them on again. |

Diamond in the Rough | Re: The lost and forgotten or those considered classics? Does anybody remember Tintin? Yeah the kinda detective-ish/lara croft-ish guy...A pretty popular character indeed and i loved his cartoon-one of the best among the western animated stuff that i've seen... It's pretty disappointing that cartoons nowadays are mostly comedic, action-based toons simply faded a bit ever since the mid 90s. It's like GLAM giving way to the Grunge revolution...Don't get me wrong, i like the new gen toons, i'm just talkin' nostalgically... |

and i do agree with you. most shows nowadays have no real story or any nostalgic value, but they shouldn't be counted out yet. For instance i'm a big fan of the Storm Hawks show. no real storyline to follw, but good nonethless and another show, anyone watch the old school Dungeons and Dragons show? that was a great one, and i;ve always wanted to visit that realm. to the magical roller coaster!

Yeah, i grew up wit tintin, i remember the characters but not their names. There was this sailor-like old dude, Tin's dog, and a pair of twins that looked like they were amish. Same as you, i remember being hooked to the show but i can't seem to remember any particular episode or so... The D&D show, i was supposed to include that in my last post but Tintin popped in my mind instead haha. I love and hate the cartoon in the very same breath. They even had an animalistic tiamat on the show, it sniveled and roared and acted kinda stupid...And who could forget the dungeon master, he walked with the heroes and even had a love interest. I remember so much from that show because of how un-D&D-ish and how cartoony funny it was...The villain named Venger looked kinda constipated too, i mean he always had that expression on his face that made him look constipated. I never got to see how the show ended but i still remember details on lots of episodes up to now... Oh how nostalgic... | |
