Exactly! This is the same as saying you're in love with an actor/actress or a singer or model to me. What makes a difference if they're not real? Technically the actor/actress/model/singer you love so much is mostly just pictures and film anyway...

Also, I think if you can hate an anime character, I think it's possible to love one as well - I mean, why would you only be able to have it one way? I just think it's a different kind of love. Just like little Ashley 'loves' Donald one week and then 'loves' Jordan and Michael the next week... or Dan dates Erika for 2 years and swears she's the one... then dates Leah for a year 1/2 and says the same thing!

The way people throw around the word love so much it's a wonder if anyone knows what 'real' love is ^.^;

Personally, when I say I love an anime character, it just means I love their personality, their actions, and/or the way they're designed, and basically I'm a (devoted) fan of them.

*hehe* I agree. You can not actually "love" an anime character (of course except for those few *cough* others out there). But, I believe you can love/like a character's personality, style, etc. and then search for some of those attributes in others. And, in a really good anime, you do begin to care for/about the characters--that's the whole idea.

Regardless, I seriously like (currently):

_Gaara from Naruto
_Sesshomaru from Inuyasha

a little strange maybe, but everybody is entitled to their own opinions. and "Love" is a very strong word, you know?

i wouldn't say i love this character(s) but the one's in my Userbar i like the most...or something like that.

HieisLove ma'am, I don't think its crazy to fall in love with an anime character. I think its true you love Hiei and hope to find someone who is like him. I think he must just be your dream guy.

I some what agree.

When I was like 3 years old I wanted to marry Tuxedo Max from Sailor Moon... but since then I have grown up, so no, not unless that counts, haha.
