I enjoy Asian music ^_^
How Korean pop/rap/etc was introduced to me is one of my friends, when we were online, came across Se7en's digital single, Crazy. We both liked it a lot, so we did some research on him, and in searching him we came across TaeBin... (He and TaeBin sometimes... touch eachother? ^^; lol I dunno how to explain it). Anyways, TaeBin is part of the group 1tym. And it just exploded from there ^^ hehe
How Chinese pop/rap/etc was introduced to me was when one of my friends told me to watch the movie The Twins Effect. After seeing it, I mentioned to another one of my friends that I thought Edison Chen (an actor in the movie) was cute. She was like "I love him! Shawn Yue, too! Did you know they sing as well?" and so when she went to China she bought me one of his CDs. I listened to it and... it was the WORST singing I'd heard in my life. It was honestly laugh out loud BAD. So I went in search of some GOOD Chinese singers. ^^
How Japanese pop/rap/etc was introduced to me was actually through the Kpop o_O I heard some of BoA's songs and found out she was Korean and I was like "...I wonder what REAL Japanese singers sound like". And so I went off and searched ^_^ hehe

What type of music genre do you enjoy listening to? Why do you enjoy it? How did you get introduced to it? Did you just happen to stumble across it, or did a friend or family member show you the light?

I enjoy rock music the most but I also lke classical piano since I play it. Rock music is more of an outlet so I enjoy it for that reason. it makes me diffrent from my family and that makes me happy. I got introduced to it by my friends when I started the fourth grade and have loved it every since. They really get me into everything, and I'm glad they do.

sometimes i'd even go for classic and something like R&B and hip hop...

I like sountracks and j-rock stuff. I will also listen to New Age stuff if I'm in the mood. hmmm....I also like 90's and 80's music mainly because I grew up listening to those and rock and alternative because my dad will tolerate those as opposed to the other stuff I listen to.

I like R&B and rap music! I mostly like old songs. The new songs are But I like some of them. I like to laugh at some of the stupid songs because some sound so funny!

I figure "Asian" doesn't really cut it as a genre, since there'd be too many sub-genres in it. The truth is I like a lot of types of music. Jazz, classical, alt-rock, gospel, ska. But if I had to pick a favorite.............. I'd go for contemporary classical.

I started off listening to mostly classical music as a kid, and rightly so, because I played a lot of instruments that you'd find in a symphony orchestra (I posted a list in the Musicians thread). There is an element about classical music that no other genre can attain. It's amazing how wide a variety of sounds you can get with a just bunch of violins... and how a piano can go from happy and joyful to haunting in a matter of seconds.

I don't know how to explain the greatness of classical music. Most people can't seem to understand why I love composers like Rachmaninov and Ravel so much. Ah well, their loss. And contemporary classical (I know the two terms kind of oppose each other), which you find in movie soundtracks, are the best of all. Hans Zimmer and Kanno Yoko are my heroes!

Does, most genre's count? going through my playlist, I have modern rock, classic rock, heavey metal, grungy, pop, a bit of hip hop and techno

I have issues. I don't usually only like a certain genre. It's the songs I like, I can love one rock song and hate another lol. I am predominatly rock though.

The only genre I don't have is rap, not a huge fan of that.

I don't really know how I got into most of my music, I guess just listen to radio's on then net ( I discovered Hinder through AO radio infact ^^) plus word of mouth, anime and games ( which is how I got Rammenstien and Utada)

I actually favor classic rock. It's so relaxing and it puts me to think about things a lot. It gives me a inner feeling and makes me feel really mellow. I was introduced first to the Beatles by my cousin and wow, I was blown away at first since I was never into this genre. I was into the rap thing so it was all new to me. I was introduced to it in the 8th grade, so then I started listening to the lyrics and eventually fell asleep every night with this music on.
