welcome. I don't think this is the right area for an intro exactly but meh. html is useful, and the best way to learn it (other than rematche's lil link above) is to actually write it. Come up with some ideas for a website and make it! 'course you'll want to learn some CSS if you wanna decent looking site.

also looking at the source code of other sites can help you figure out good layouts. (once you know what to look for). I write a lot of Java and html in my work, and it's way easier and faster if you have a template to go off of, search the interwebs, the info is everywhere.
