We'd have to define 'old school' and 'new school' first wouldn't we?
I hardly think your 'old school' is comparable to, let's say, LenMiyata.
Yea I like some of them but do you think that old school or new school games are better? And why.
I like new school for the graphics, but I still love old school just for the game play so I'd go for either or.

Both are easily defined.
Old School: Any game or system pertaining to last gen.
New School: Any game or system pertaining to current gen(360, PS3, Wii).
The only old school system I have is the Xbox, but I liked the games for them. I think the current gen games are getting way to complicated, or what developers like to call "innovative". Take Mass Effect for example, it's an RPG, RTS, shooter and fantasy hybrid game which to me looks like total crap. And this seems to be the trend that game developers are now taking in order to justify the high price point of their games. I'll stick with my pure bred genres like CoD2 or Fable.

Whoa not the Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube but more on the lines of Sega Dreamcast, Sega Genesis, Atari, Super Nintendo you know when games where first blossoming into what they are now. Anything ahead of the Dreamcast would be next gen for me.
So I think Old school vs. New School would be pretty much Catridges vs. Cds...
'Cause you give me something / That makes me scared, alright / This could be nothing / But I'm willing to give it a try / Please give me something
'Cause someday I might call you from my heart
See how confusing it is?
