I've been meaning to see this movie since it came out. I havent had the time however. Just the plot of th movie had me interested. I actually would like to read the novel before watching it. I think it's a book..

I've read the book. Perfumer and serial killer Jean-Baptiste Grenouille hunts young, nubile girls to concoct the perfect perfume... Haven't seen the film. But I've read the book, and people tell me the book's way better.
Stayed up all night to finish it. Not for the squeamish. Otherwise, enjoy the book. Only dull moment perhaps was when he lived in the mountains all alone.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
But the movie kinda shortened the time when he was living all alone...
and this movie's plot is kinda confusing sometimes... but it is full with naked girls YAY~! i am glad i watched it hahah~!

The book, written by Patrick Suskind, is arguably much better. Makes you wonder if Suskind had any latent lolita complexes, though... his first victim and his greatest victim were both young girls, although he had to wait a couple months... or years for the latter (to get her "essence" to mature, so to speak). You get to understand things better in the book. And Grenouille's not as handsome in the book as he is in the movie.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
