It is probably because more people are doing this than any other acts of "crime." It is very depressing how stealing is being more punishable than crimes that involve physicality instead of just sitting on a seat, looking for songs through your computer, and getting them illegally :rolleyes: When will people learn :lurk: Is there no justice in this world?

true as that may be, you have to recognize that piracy is a much bigger problem than child porn is. Sad, but true. It easier I'd say to catch a kiddie porn seller, but much more difficult to monitor someone's illegal downloading activities...
I don't know look at this and thinking what a load of crap.U know what i think is piracy is a direct reaction to what ppl charge for sensory pleasure thingies and the reason most ppl pirate is because they also wanna see, hear and feel the pleasure other ppl have and they don't have the dollars to do that so yeah they pirate.
Look at Anime if u have a look at the amounts of Anime that the ppl have on their computers,that is fine because alot of the Anime is shown on tv these days and if u download it cool because most off them are not for sale somewhere else.So what do we say about the things that has been shown on Tv do we disgard them and only things like movies that not yet been shown on nasional tv.I doubt it if they show it to the whole world i recon we can have copies of it as long as u don't make a fool of yourself and try to sell.Selling is where the okes get caught and if u don't sell then nothing wrong with that.Although i am not sure how they work it out but i download alot of things movies /tv shows and all that but i don't sell so do i pirate or not.

Well, look at it this way...In about 20 years, our generation is going to be holding all of the important offices in the government. Right now, congress is about 20 years behind the times. They think that video games corrupt our youth, that drugs are going to topple society, and that violent rap lyrics are hypnotizing our youth into shooting police officers. In 20 years, though, our government will be run by our generation, which should mean that these issues are more understood. Just look at the old debate over whether Rock music was corrupting our youth. It was such a big deal that the Beatles almost never existed in the United States. Then, a later generation hit office, and they remembered listening to Lynnard Skynnard and the Beatles. They listened to these old people complaining about Rock. Then they stopped listening to them. Rock is still alive and well, and almost no one seriously debates whether it's good or bad anymore. I see the same thing happening with downloading information (music, movies, etc.) and video games and drugs and rap music within the next 20 years.Quote:

Child pornography is bad but come on, no one makes any money by it (If they do not a lot) I agree that it is sick, but if you copy a newly released movie, you could make a fortune!
Most people are just interested in money and not childrens welfare, hense the longer prison sentence for piracy.
I hope someday that the government will change for the better!
