Thread: Slipknot

Slipknot its an ok band. Some of their songs are alright, but not that great. I hear a lot of people praising them as the best Metal band ever when in reality they aren't metal; they are Nu-Metal.

I do have issues with people labeling Slipknot or any heavy group today, "best metal band ever", or even, "best band in the world, blah blah blah". That tells me you haven't listened to much of the old rock and heavy metal groups and really have no perspective on what even makes a band the "best." I've come to think though whenever some young kid calls a band "the best band ever," what they really mean is that's their favorite band. Funny how the definition can get skewed.

I like Slipknot, not my favorite band but they are definitely good with out a doubt. My favorite metal bands are Triviom and Scar Symmetry as their music is much more diverse and always have a different theme to them. But that does not mean Slipknot is boring or predictable, and as Dark said, their energy they put into their songs makes them that much better. As for their costumes, well, that’s their trade mark theme for them more so than anything else. It is cheesy, but it works.

True. But I feel that if they didnt do the costume and masks, they would be like any run-of-the-mil band

i like slipknot too!! im persanally a fan of there older songs although the newer ones arent all that bad. i dont like their pictures though... they scare me... xD

I've seen some music videos with them and have been thinking about buying an album with them, but for some reason i allways forget when i finaly get to the store ^^ but then again, i don't know that much about them XP
