What do you guys think about Speed Racer? Speed would be cool if it didn't look so F**king gay. Why couldn't they have made it more serious like the new batman movies. The people that seen the cartoon(Anime) in the past are grown up now, and want something more serious, not some movie that looks like its on acid. I guess they want to appeal to the little kiddies?

I know the original was that way but i was looking for something different.

I'll see it. But I'm going to wait for it to come out on DVD and rent it first. It doesn't really look all that great to me. Sure the Mach 5 looks okay and for those that need it, it has all of the classic elements of the original. But, truth be told, I'm more excited about Iron Man than Speed Racer.

I actually wasn't going to go see it. I thought it sounded pretty dumb. But once I saw the previews, my mind changed, lol. XD; I'm basically going to see all the shiny things they put in it. :B

edit: ^ ooo, and I'm excited for Iron Man. :3

I really dont care too much for the style of the movie, but im keeping an open mind. Im a huge fan for the original speed racer, but the movie looks interesting.... ^^;

i liked speed racer when i was younger..
but the movie looks okay, im iffy on it. Alot of old comics and shows turning into Moives can turn out kinda bad. I didnt like the hulk movie that much..Im on the fence im going see it, but if it sucks im jus going to stop wacthing, and leave

i dont really think that an anime should be made into a live action. you dont get the same effects from a live action as you would in an anime. so i just think they should leave anime alone and not make any of it into live action.

But couldn't you say the same thing about all those comic book derived movies such as 'Superman', 'Batman', 'Spiderman', 'Iron Man', 'X-Men', 'Fantastic Four', 'The Hulk', etc. etc.

Well i never watched the show before,but i do know wat it is and plan to see the movie because it does seem to show promise and not be just a crap film.

Just watched the first clip. Damn! I know one character I've created that wouldn't mind that kinda race...

Looks like it might just be alright action wise, though the story is yet to be seen. Still, wouldn't mind seeing it...
