![]() ![]() Credits: 27,243 | Re: true gamers Noticing a few females standing up & taking up the title of Gamer. Good to see. Heck, If I get this thing gaming again & then get my new one, my sister will become my sniping backup in BF2142. It doesn't matter what gender you are, your a Gamer if you love playing games for entertainment. Consoles Gamer, PC Gamer, Board Gamer, Tabletop Gamer, as long as you in it for the fun, then it's cool. Those guys who play purely to win though, they slip away from the title of Gamer to me. That's when you're in danger of becoming an A$$hole Elitest. Games are designed so people can have fun. I get blown away on BF2142 pretty often, but I still enjoy it. My Blood Angel successors & Tau occasionally end up as nothing than a speed bump, but it's just a game. I've met & played a few A$$hole Elitests, even learnt how to play 40K against one with my Marines, & it's never fun their playing for. Mind you, their attitude does make each victory all that much more sweeter...

![]() Credits: 17,085 | Re: true gamers I've always disliked the term "true gamer". Really, if one plays games, they are technically a gamer. I don't think it's a matter of skill, or time clocked per week, or anything. I suppose it could be argued that people who spent lots of time and money on it are more serious about the hobby, and can be considered "hardcore", or whatever. As long as it isn't used as a derrogatory word against casual games, it really doesn't matter to me. |

Diamond in the Rough | Re: true gamers Ok there is no need to be a true gamer, go get a life how about. I admit, i play games, but i still have a life and I work a bit on the side, there is just no need to do constant video gaming. It brings you no where in life. In any case, anyone who games, could indeed be called a gamer...but I really don't know how to describe TRUE gamer, other than one who has no friends, no life, no job, and no girlfriend. |

![]() God of Destruction | Re: true gamers Well, I'd have to say being a "true gamer" is when someone generally follows a series of games from start to finish, playing each along the way. I wouldn't really call going to parties and getting posters etc etc really a truue gamer it almost sounds more like a fanboy if you were to ask me. Also being able to name everything like items maps characters etc would rather go into a "geek" category unless it's really actual valuable clues or something. so basically my answer is someone who is faithful to a game, yet doesn't "worship" them so to speak.

![]() Credits: 20,887 | Re: true gamers Well having this arguement must have a some type of evidential prove that in order to be a gamer is that you must know most of the games by heart and also must have the right experience for the amount of games you took the time to play. The total time i played to be a true gamer has been for about 12 years now and i am currently still dealing with the latest games i am concurrently playing at the moment, i am also known that i have been involved in classic games for several school competitions, but in this case dealing with all the games in one whole stack is pain in the head. Like you said before, having into an arguement may conclude in for several days later which is resulted into a clean fight without being hurt.
