Bump of Chicken - Hybrid Rainbow

OMG yay for bands paying tribute to The Pillows! Of all the songs in the Synchronized Rockers album, this is undoubtedly my favorite. I've had the album for a couple of years now and I kind of thought my preference or taste might change in all that time but it obviously hasn't. This is lovely. It's slow, *sort of* quiet, peaceful... and great vocals. Pretty much what's to be expected of Bump of Chicken. Go old-school Japanese rockers.

Every time I listen to this song, especially the lines "curled up with machines" and "Your heart only beats 1's and 0's", I can't help but think of Serial Experiments Lain. The whole album is quite good, but this songs like this one and "Girl Disappearing" in particular help me get over the musical massacre that was The Beekeeper.

Bonnie Pink - Nemurenai Yoru

Not a spectacular song in any respect(s), but it's nice to listen to once in a while. It's slow, driving and.... peaceful? Even though the singing does sound a tad forced. Still, it's hard NOT to like Bonnie Pink, even when Kaori's singing in a deeper, raspier voice.

reason: I just recently heard of them and decided that I really like Eisbrecher. They are a German gothic rock group, and a good alternative of Rammestein (in my opnion at least). Vergissmeinnicht, Schwarze Witwe, and Leider are my three favorites so far, but all of their music that i've heard (at least eight songs right now) is cool.
