Crazy - Gnarles Barkley. This song is weird. I've never heard anything so laid back like that before. It's a catcy song as well. I like it. Very relaxing. Something you could listen to while laying back on your sofa in the living room, with the windows open, on a hot summer's day.

Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No 7, 1st Movement


All these years I've really underestimated Beethoven, thanks to the simplified versions of his piano compositions. But his compositions for whole symphony orchestras are beautiful, in particular his 7th Symphony, which I was drawn to after watching Nodame Cantabile. I love the sforzandos in the first few bars, and how the oboe/clarinet solos interlace so beautifully with the building strings. If you listen to this with your speaker volume on really loud and the lights dimmed you'll feel like you're really in Carnegie Hall listening to, say, the Boston Symphony Orchestra play. Lovely.
