The sadest song I've ever heard of is "The Ghost Of You" by My Chemical Romance. For two obviouse reasons: where they say "you are never coming home" and "at the top of my lungs and in my arms she dies". It brings a single tear to my eye everytime I hear it.
"The Little Things Give You Away" By Linkin Park. The song was written for the hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans. The song always makes me think of it too. All those people and what happend to them. It was disheartening.:(:cool3:
I'll be missing you is probably the saddest song for me because the lyrics remind of people I lost. Stuff like Know you in heaven smilin down (eheh)
Watchin us while we pray for you
"Teardrop" by Massive Attack is probably one of the saddest songs in the world... it's just so charming... always makes me cry... It just has something in it, that makes you close your eyes, makes your head spin and makes you sob... A wonderful song.
The lyrics are simple:
But the way it's sang and played is just so wonderful, you should hear it if you haven' t done it yet... really a magnificent song..Quote:
(love)love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Feathers on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me makes me lighter
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath
In the night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath
Water is my eye
Most faithful my love
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire of a confession
Feathers on my breath
Most faithful my love
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath
Stumbling a little (x2)
Another might be "With or Without You" or "One" by U2 or "Clocks" by Coldplay... Those are just magical songs... I love them... I think these will stay perfect for evermore... they're so simple... so beautiful... wonderfull!!! Go to YouTube and check them out if you hear of them for the first time... you must hear these at least once in your life...
There are many more I figure very sad and witch make me emotional but then this might turn either into a list post or a post-too-long. ^^
Eric Clapton's, "Tears in Heaven", i believe was a song written when his baby died.
Linkin Park's "Leave Out all The Rest", and "My December", the mood and feeling it reminds me of....
Evanescence's "My Immortal", just her voice and the piano....
Aerosmith's, "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing", just because of moment he(Bruce Willis) sacrifices himself in the movie to save the whole world, Armageddon, speaking to his daughter one last time...

Evanescence's My Immortal. its so soft but creepy. She's hurt and trying to cope with the loss, although its haunting her...
The Saddest song that I have probly heard is "Ball and Chain" by Social Distortion....
Now you cant honestly read those lyrics and say that theres not a single sad thing about them...Quote:
Well it's been ten years, and a thousand tears
And look at the mess I'm in-
A broken nose and a broken heart,
An empty bottle of gin
Well I sit and I pray
In my broken down Chevrolet-
While I'm singin' to myself
There's got to be another way
chorus:
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
I'm lonely and I'm tired
And I can't take any more pain
Take away, take away
Never to return again
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
Well I've searched and I've searched
To find the perfect life-
A brand new car and a brand new suit
I even got me a little wife-
But wherever I have gone
I was sure to find myself there-
You can run all your life
But not go anywhere
chorus:
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
I'm lonely and I'm tired
And I can't take any more pain
Take away, take away
Never to return again
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
Well I'll pass the bar on the way
To my dingy hotel room-
I spent all my money
Been drinkin' since a half past noon-
I'll wake there in the mornin'
Or maybe in the county jail-
Times are hard getting harder
I'm born to lose and destined to fail-
chorus:
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
I'm lonely and I'm tired
And I can't take any more pain
Take away, take away
Never to return again
Take away, take away
Take away this ball and chain
