Yes they will but if your there and play it with them. They can enjoy them games and be taught what behaver is not acceptable. Kids will copy anything they see, the parents have to be there to teach them how to act. The parents don't wont to do that. First it was TV, and now Video games are blamed. I guess its easier to bit** and blame something, then to actually take control of your kids life.Quote:
And guess what? Children do what they see. People tend to do what they see it's just more pronounced when they are younger. So yes, if they hear swear words they will repeat them and yes younger children will imitate what they have seen. Don't even get me started on all the boys I knew growing up who strapped a cape on and jumped off the garage pretending to be superman.
I agree with Hassun, where the hell do you live? They don't do that around here either. I though you lived in a nice Mormon community?
The fact remains in all the many times I have been in a game store I have NEVER heard an employee take the time to explain to a parent the rating system and I have many times watched them tell the parents, or even the kids themselves, that they have got to buy the newest (most expensive) M game that just came out because it's just so cool.
As another parent I find myself having to explain to these ticked off parents that they just got the wrong game. After what has happened though many of them simply don't believe me. They've been burned. It has happened everywhere I have lived in the US as well so maybe it's just a US thing. Come to think of it, isn't that where most of the complaints are coming from?
If a child is brought up to be good, nothing would influence he or she easily. Parents play a big role but they are just too used at pointing their fingers at others.. I have a friend whose computer was taken away but his dad but it's of no use...There are so many cyber-cafe nowadays.. Perhaps we as children wouldn't understand the parenthood world..
Moving to sensory pleasures as this is a discussion about video games and people's views on them.
it's because they're afraid to admit it's also their fault. like most people blame god if something bads happeneds. it's human nature...always blaming.
