Gaara would win by far because Neji is way less powerful than Naruto and Gaara was alot harder for Naruto to beat so I think that Gaara would win by A landslide.

are you crazy in shippuden neji would have a total chance against garra.

well i don't think that neji would win but he would put up a good fight but he would take a hell of an beatdown because garra can fight long and short range in shippuden. and neji has most of his attacks are short range and only a few long range.

Yes he did have great fighting capablities but after what happened to him in shipudden it is unknown wheter or not he can still fight as good.

I'd say Gaara would win. Neji is a BAMF and all, but Gaara could easily smother him before he struck a blow. Also, Gaara is encased in sand (his body); even if Neji did land a blow at a potent spot, it would only shatter Gaara's sand shell.

All yea if we are talking about when the chunin exams happened gaara could use the tailed beast charka like naruto used the nine-tailed beast charka and own neji. but after the beast was takin form him neji would stand a better chance cause gaara would not haver two different charka and could not turn into the shukau.
