Ah, well, this is very hard. If it was the first season, gaara would so deffinatly win. Why??? Because one, neji isn't as expeirienced, two, gaara is already at a high level and has the demon inside him, and three, neji's destiny thing gets in the way of reality.

Now, if this were shippuden, then Neji would deffinatly win. Why??? Because one, neji becomes a WHOLE lot stronger, two, neji beat three S-rank akatsuki, three, gaara got beat by deidara while neji beat those THREE akatsuki, and finally, neji is faster and can easily go through the sand barrier that protects gaara.

Honestly Gaara is one of the strongest and well
defensed ninja in naruto but neji has the ability
to see chakra points as well as the 360 degree
defense so As of right now im undecided until
i see more of neji's techniques and jutsus.

no doubt, gaara will abslutely win.. he's very powerful, compared to neji.. and his skills are very unnatural and can't be easily defeated.. well, he can't be a kazekagi if his not that powerful.. remeber, a kazekagi, portects the whole village or nation..

Gaara all the way!! for one thing Neji wouldnt be able to get passed the sand and all Gaara would have to do is use the sand coffin jutsu and neji would be finished...^-^

Gaara has his 2nd sand defense which is hard like rock he wouldnt be able to reach his chakra points i think gaara is the worst possible match up for neji. Think during the rescue sasuke arc he almost died beating that guy with the bow and arrow long range distance ninja are his worse enemy lol and gaara is the king.

Neji is strong but he is nothing compared to Gaara and his sand. For Neji to beat Gaara it
would have to be a close-range attack like hitting his chakra points in his body or
thousand palms of death he would still have to be close up to Gaara and if Neji by some
chance gets through Gaara's sand wall which you never know that might be so but don't
forget that Gaara can duplicate his body with sand and be hiding somewhere waiting for
the perfect opportunity to strike, and even if Neji does have the 360 degree defense
keep in mind that it does have a weak spot and if they are fighting in the desert than
Gaara obviously wins hands down, its not just the fact of who is strong but also who is
smarter, faster, has good skills, knowledge of opponents weakness, and even the fact of
location.
