If they killed off main characters, then the show would have less of an "atmosphere" so to speak and the show itself could get worse. And yes the whole "good guy beats bad guy" thing comes into play. They have to make them strong so they can stand up and live to the claim.

yeah i noticed that.i dont know why but thats just how it is.
i mean naruto has the 9 tailed fox and sasuke with the sharingan...

yeah all the genin have way better jutsu than the jounin and chunnin from other villages.

yea the anbu are really screwed up they are suppose to be elite ninjas yet there was an entire team of them that was taken out by kabuto!!!! what is up with that and sasuke keeping up with someone trained by orochimaru during chunin exams i didnt care once you get past that naruto is an awesome show
