Actually, both Pokemon and Naruto refer to the 'Kitsune', which by Japanese folklore is a 'trickster' spirit very much like the 'coyote' spirit of the Indians of the American west....

Many of the other Pokemon are also based on creatures of Japanese folklore, as the 'Meowth' is based on the Shinto house spirit of luck and wealth...

Naruto is a nine-tails. I think this came from the idea of pokemon. Maybe the maker of naruto has a child who loved pokemon, and made it after him... who knows...

I don't think there related at all, just because there is a pokemon named the night tail fox doesn't mean they have any relation to one another. I think its just a mere concidence.

yes habte... its true.. alot of naruto things are based on pokemon such as the demon fox... and pokemon did come first.. these are the similarities ive managed to pick up david:
1. 9 tails fox
2. quest to be the best
3. they both summon creatures
4. they both have elemental techniques

o and your soooooooooooooo wrong! the point of naruto is not the demon fox... its:
1. to become hokage
2. kill orochimaru and atasuki
3. get sasuke back
4 to be the best ramen lover ever (jks.)
5. to develop a super duper move that can pwn anything

if you are talking about posibble links here a few im being thinking about
1. nine tail fox and a pokemon call Ninetales
2. shadow clone and a move call double team both move mave more than one copy of the person or creature using it but only in naruto are solid clones and in pokemon they are just illusion

these two are the only two possibility i can think of but i really dont think they have anything in common there completely different story line and everything

i really cant see any similarities, exept that i once had a Hitmonlee, and it pwned. and rock leeeeeeeeeee owns.

i don't really think that they are related. i mean the only reason that narutos monster is called the nine tails is because it has nine tails (stating the obviouse)

i mean the monsters are named after how many tails they have. gaara's monster has one tail, and is named appropriately and there are 7 other monsters out there with the sequence of tails all the way to naruto.so the fact that naruto's monster is named nine tails is more of the fact that the author didn't want to make it too confusing.
