Thread: the strongest jounin?

The Strongest Jounin in Konoha would have 2 be Kakashi. Even though kakashi knows the lighting blade. He still knows the sharingan and that's only in the Uchiha clan. However, if kakashi never got the sharingan from Obito, Kakashi would probably be weaker.

I think Gai is stronger than kakashi, Gai is faster and stronger than kakashi and learned how to counter the sharingan so he could fight with kakashi if thats not enough he also has the gates.

In the comparison between Gai and Kakashi people always say just because Kakashi has the Sharingan he automatically is stronger. Well....

Also, keep in mind that there are details people are forgetting. Recall the episode where Itachi was in Leaf Village. Gai mentioned and showed that he found a way to completely counter the Sharingan. Being that this would seriously reduce Kakashi's advantage I'd say he'd lose his edge in the respect of who would be stronger of the two.

hehey... dont forget that kakashi is the 'copy ninja' its not just about his sharingan ya know... its how he use it... look at itachi or sasuke... they don't copy jutsus like kakashi... there's a reason why kakashi is known for who he his...

besides... for those who say that the sharingan is not significant... i shud emphasize that its the strongest and most powerful bloodline in the naruto world... just try defeating a bloodline limit man... its a BLOODLINE limit!!! kakashi got it from another way not thru birth... but so wad... a bloodline limit is a bloodline limit...

because it can create illusions...?? its like genjutsu + byakugan... although more deadlier...

There is a flaw in Gai's method though. It has no effect whatsoever on the Mangekyou.

hmm... lee PWNs sasuke?? i think that's because at that time sasuke has yet to master his sharingan... not to mention sharingan has lots of potential to evolve(eg mangekyou and that new type of sharingan kakashi used against deidara in shippuuden)...

on top of that.. if u say Gai doesn't need ninjutsu to own... that's not completely true... its not that he doesn't need to use... but he cant use... that's precisely WHY he even mastered taijutsu... if he was able to use ninjutsu, then he would be fighting in a totally different style now... its just a handicap... but he overcame it... so it does not necessarily mean he's stronger...

come to think of it... like what the others say... if both jounins are at their best (kakashi using mangekyou sharingan and Gai using primary lotus with say 5 gates oepn... or even all 8) taijutsu is useless against mangekyou.... its a complete goner... UNLESS Gai can find a way to avoid it :P

Don't you mean Lee? Gai can use Ninjutsu, he just isn't as good with it as Taijutsu, hence chooses not to use it much. There are examples if you pay close attention, where he uses jutsu (kuchiyose no jutsu), just it's not very often so a lot of the times he's discounted as not being able to use it at all (confused with Lee since they are so close in similarity).

It has no effect whatsoever on the Mangekyou.

Actually, in order for Mangekyou to work, if you noticed from when Itachi used it on Sasuke, the person has to be looking at the eyes. Gai counters the Sharingan by looking at their feet and not their eyes. The only way Itachi could get Gai to do that is to grab him and force him like he did Sasuke. However, that is unlikely given Gai's speed.
