It's about ninjas; therefore it includes martial arts & powers, well it's got good story and some good action, what I mean is this anime is good for you if like supernatural people & fantasy

its about a kid who wants to be hokage and hokage is like a form of daimyo but risks his or her life in place of the ninja of their village and he works towards this goal until his best friend sasuke leaves and then he has two goals get sasuke back and become hokage

Naruto is about a Lone boy who would like to give back the hidden leaf by one day becomming leader, & Naruto is kind of dragon ball for this generation

when it starts out, you get a sence of all the charaters, powers and such., then in Shuppuden is kind of DBZ as those charaters in Naruto grow and get stonger in their powers and yes they to beat up new bad guys.
