No, like the others have said Goku is a hunter and Chi-Chi is rich being a princess and all.
Goku also won the world marital arts tournament so he's got that prize money.
They live in the mountains one with nature so they don't need to pay for water, gas, or electricity and for food like its been said Goku hunts.
He's a better dad then Vegeta who disowned them for power to defeat Goku which he later took back but still Goku never did that.
Sure Goku wasn't around sometimes but if his family was ever in danger he'd be there to protect them.
ie Gohan needing help against Cell and Bojack, also helping Goten and Gohan against Broly.
He broke the rules and returned to the world of the living to help that's dedication.
Just a random thought on this, but if we remember that Goku was basically forced into marriage. So Chi-Chi shouldn't really expect much from him. Especially since he thought marriage was food...
