hey people just got a quick question... what tence should this thing be in? I mean I'm going in 1st but I have see people go in 2nd... just wondering...

Well it depends really if it denotes present tense the a present tense construction of the sentence is in order. so it really depends.

Personally I use third person because I have two chars constantly interacting with each other so for me to say "I does whatever", would be a little silly and confusing.
