This is the Glossary thread for Final Fantasy XVI.

Glossary:

A

Avalon – A small town in Aelbeach, a very simple people; they are very weary of strangers and things outside of the norm. Magic is strictly taboo.

Avaian Path – Small trial leading from Avalon to the port town of Vandria in Aelbeach. Previously a mountainous region, it has been reduced to a marsh land now due to the continuous sink of the region. The trail takes 4 days to pass on foot.

B

Bango Berries – Fruit of a Bango tree, small red berries similar to raspberries. Mild nutritional value (increases health/mana 1%), slightly bitter in taste. *Favorite food of collarabbits.

C

Collarabbits – Wild rabbit like animals found all over the Eorzea. Known for their quickness and meek nature they are difficult to catch by non-magic users or those with low dexterity. Collarabbits are high in nutritional value for their small size which makes them a prized catch, (increases health/mana 25%).

D

Dexterity – The rate of movement a person posses measured on a scale of 0-100 (zero means you are dead, petrified or asleep), also known as speed. Affects attacking speed as well as rate of attacks.

Gil – The currency a.k.a money of all Final Fantasy worlds.

Meridian – small water craft used in the marshlands just out side of Vandria.
Mesoshrums – Small mushroom like shrubs, eatable but little nutritional value (increases health/mana 1%).

Oogway Gang – A small gang that operates out of the surrounding territory of Vandria. Shinkie is their leader in they number 10-12 in number total.

Roubinmelon – Cantaloupe sized melons, they are bitter to the taste and cause severe stomach aches shortly there after. Normally fried to cook all of the bitterness out and thus remove the after effect. Never eat raw!

Shinkie Malestorm – Leader of the Oogway Gang, he is a young guy in his early 20’s fairly cunning and methodic in his ways. He and his gang of misfits pray upon travelers on the outskirts of Vandria.

Souls - Souls are the leftover imprint of a person's memory. They contain all that which made a person a person. Souls, if left alone for too long, can turn their memories into hatred and transform into monsters that prey on the living. They appear as multicolored orbs of varying sizes.

Vandria – A port town in Aelbeach, it is the central hub for transportation to all the water towns in Aelbeach. Due to this, it is also one of the largest cities in Aelbeach.
