Mythological Mechwarrior (Character Thread)

This is where you put up your character. Remember to put up your Affiliation(sort of like your country) as well since that is EXTREMELY important in this particular universe. There are three major groups of Affiliations:

1) The Great Houses-a. House Davion, at this time House Davion is probably the most powerful of the Great Houses. They are constantly at war with the Kuritans. There society is roughly similar to a feudal monarchy.

b. Lyran Alliance- the Lyrans are roughly similar to feudal Germany in mindset (but not exactly). They are considered the best traders in the Inner Sphere (not to be confused with the Periphery, another group). They are considered equals of House Davion, though in their eyes they rival them.

c. House Liao (the Capellan Confederation)- the Capellans Society is similar to that of Ancient China. Kids are even expected to work in "peasant" families. The Capellans are main rivals of the Lyrans.

d. House Marik (the Free Worlds League)- the4 League is similar in mindset to modern day America. Though have an intense dislike of cybernetics, though.

c. House Kurita (the Draconis Combine)- think feaudal Japan and you have the right attitude.

2) The Periphery- this is an amalgamation of many different countries and/or Free States living on the edges of the Inner Sphere (where the Houses are located).

3) Mercenary Units- exactly what you think they are. Some of ;them are extremely powerful in their own rights (the Wolf's Dragoons and the Eridany Light Horse come to mind).

You are also allowed to place just about anything you want with approval. The main alien races are: the Lizak (shapeshifting lizard people mainly pacifists) and the Change Children (capable of changing back and forth between a humanform and that of an animal).

The Gifted that are the most common are:

1)Psis- psionically powered characters

2)Mages- they study the "arcane arts" according to most people when in reality they are merely tapping into to alternate energy sources.

3)Priests-they derive Divine Gifts from "deities" w;hich are just extradimensional entities

4)the Rosecrucians-this is a secret society that has exhisted among humans for many generations. They have always known how to tap into various energies. They are Holy Warriors bent on seeing that Evil is not triumphant. There mark is a Rose. Those possible for PCs are: a)Yellow-the most common group, generalists who dabble in all of the skills; b) Blues-the represent Hope for the future, they are politicians and advisors; c)Pinks-they try to see that the right people find each other (i.e. Matchmakers), enchantments are their specialty; and the Greens-the healers of the society. ALL Rosecrucians are trained in the art of fencing.

Note all new players will be beginners in their craft, no exceptions. I am trying to preserve game balance with this rule.

Appearance: Markavius is roughly 5"10". He appears to weigh about 165lbs. He has SeaGreen eyes and Light Brown Hair. His features are fineboned and "perfect". His skin is a dusky colored (think cross between Cherokee and Aztec and you have the right idea).

Personality: Markavius appears cold and distant to most individuals. Military minded individuals would realize that he has the demeanor of a major officer though of which Affiliation is questionable. He has a strong sense of personal honor.

Bio: Nothing is known about this enigmatic indivdual who suddenly appeared at a University in the Outworld's Alliance (a Periphery Affiliation known for it's excellent Aerospace Pilots).

Profession: Bio-dome ecosystem engineer, specializing in medicinal and consumption plants-expert in rare plant identification

Weapon: hand laser, laser knife(used mainly for specimen collecting) short sword, Machete(needed for foliage control when scouting for new plants) throwing knife.

Appearance: She is short at 5' 2". She has long (to mid back) dark copper red hair w/ an unusual silver-white streak on her left side(by her face) and deep sapphire blue eyes. She has an athletic build and a healthy outdoor type tan. She is extremely beautiful.

Personality: She is a naturalist preferring natural foods over the processed stuff, she prefers everything to be as natural as possible. she has a quirky sense of humor, but a no non-sense attitude when it comes to working on her Bio-domes. she is as intelligent as she is beautiful, tho she underplays her looks. She HATES politicians(her father is one) and political situations with a passion and will try to avoid political meetings whenever possible.

Bio: Carrollyn was raised in a political family. Her father is one of the Party leaders for the governing Senate, her mother died when she was 10 leaving her 2 older brothers and herself to her father's care. At age 13 he had her acting as hostess for his political dinners and other type parties and kept either destroying relationship(i.e. friends, boyfriend) or trying to make matches for her that would be politically beneficial to himself. Both her brothers escaped into military service(one an Aero pilot the other an Aero Tech) She went to University into the engineering field, discovered that she had an affinity for plants and ecosystems, so specialised in Bio-domes. She is in the top of her field and often goes on expeditions for new plants(medicinal and poisonous are her specialties). She is accompanied everywhere by her Ship Khatt-an intelligent mutant feline species that are bred for onboard ship pest control. They are very rare and bond to one person only(npc pet).

Lance: 301st Scout Lance.
Bio: Robert is 6'0", has green eyes, short spiked dark brown hair, and is rather skinny. He is usually very friendly and very polite. He does how ever have an aggressive side to him as well do in part that he is easily annoyed. Robert is very open minded to things unless he finds something to be completely ludicrous. He can also be rather a smart ass at times and on occasion butts heads with Debra Mizuki, the Lance's communications officer. He for the most part gets along very well with his Lance mates, Mark Shenshry, an advanced scout who pilets a Raven, Jhone Bronski, Roberts wing man who pilets a Wolf Hound light attack mech, and Gwen Histaty, who pilets an anti infintry Flea light mech.

Background: Robert grew up in a middle class family who have had members in the armed forces dating back to the Star League before it's collapse and have been loyal to the House of Davion for decades ever sense. Robert has a keen sense on military tactics, protocol, and is very knowledgeable about war fare in general given his family history. He is a high school grad and attended college for several years before getting a job with his father as a drafter for a modest size mech development plant. A few years later he joined the military to help defend the Federations borders from House Kurita and House Liao who have been bitter rivals ever sense House Kurita attempted to conquer House Davion during the formation of the Federation.
How ever, he has never been to the frunt line, instead him and his Lance he is apart of, the 301st Scout Lance, have been stationed on a small forested planet of Sety IV, a small but growing agricultural and mining colony a few Hyper space jumps away from the Federation and Draconis borders. The 301st are one of a few other Lances stationed there to protect against pirates and Mercs who managed to slip through the borders.

Mech statistic: Robert is a pilat of a 50 ton Medium mech called an Uziel. Roberts Uziel is heavily modified when compaired to the stock counterparts. Roberts Uziel has removed all of it's short ranged weapons, Flame thrower, twin machine guns, and SRM-6s (Short Ranged Missiles) as well as removing electronic equipment as well such as the Begal Active Prob or simply BAP and its Antie Missiles System or AMS, but he kept the Uziels Jump Jets to alow it to still be nimble and versitile. Robert also removed all heat sinks from the mech as well. Keeping only the mechs twin PPCs or Partical Projectile Cannons which are located on the mechs arms. With the avliable weight he has mounted a single 13 ton Light Gauss Rifle into the right shoulder. A smaller caliber then its larger standard brother, what it lacks in punch it makes up for with range. Robert's Uziel usually fires in an Alpha strike (Firing all weapons at once) and with the two PPCs and Light Gauss makes it an exstreamly powerfull medium to long range sniper mech. Most light and mediums mechs are brought down with two shots from Uziels Alpha Strike. Roberts Uziel is also capable at bringing down Heavy mechs as well with three to four shots. Assault mechs how ever are exstrealy difficult to bring down do to their heavy armor and fire power. One of the draw backs how ever is clear, it run very hot do to forgoing heat sinks for more long range fire power and there for heats up very fast, only allowing it to fire it twin PPCs only twice before having to wait for his mech to cool, other wise he runs the risk of a forced shut down to keep the mech's fusion core from going critical.

Bio:came from a race of Mercenary Sniper's (all of them mostly...) and can complete almost anyjob asked...oh yes one more thing one the planet he comes from (^^) human is consitered a great food to eat (and other things...)

Personality: Sometimes is quiet, and sometimes can be social with other individuals.

Bio: When he was young, his father was a mech warrior, he wanted to become one as well, but his father died in combat. by the time he was old enough, he graduated from military school, but instead of fighting for his country, he fought for money.
