Anyway the goal is to stop the hollows from eatting peoples souls!!!!
Anything else is basically to stop the destruuction of the Soul Society.

Um it depends where you are at in the series, in the begining its to stop hollows, later on its to save rukia, and even further its to fin out this thing wiht Aizen and the murder of the 46! or what ever they were called!

all in all, the mission is to make sure the human and spirit worlds, as well as all the people that live in each world, are safe and secure. this is usually done by defeating hollows, rescuing people in distress, and fighting anyone that gets in the way of peace.

i foresee that after the story arc that is being created right now in the japanese anime/manga, hueco mundo, it will be difficult to come up with another storyline that will follow in at least somewhat of a coherent linearity but they have done well up to this point, so we shall see.
