When a human dies they are sent to soul society and retain their memories letting them remember their loved ones from the passed life, but what happens to a Shinigami or someone else in soul society when they die? I only just started to think about this when Zaraki killed the previous captain of the 11th Division. I thought, "where did that captain go when he died?" "If he was reborn as a human, wouldn't he just be back to soul society sometime in the future?" Are soul society deaths just unanswered or is Bleach just full of holes?

Technically, theres no proof that spirits, souls, and the after life, even exist.

I personally believe that once the electrical activity within your neurons stops, your thought, mind, personality, "soul", stop as well, and you become nonexistant.

A lifeless corpse.

the ppl in soul society can't die and when Shinigami dies it disappears like the first few episodes.

they can actually die and usually it results in incarnation which means that their memory of soul society is wiped out and they will only get a sense of familiarity if they see someone with a similiar face.

here's how it is....

In Bleach, when a human dies their soul either become Hollows or get sent to Soul Society.

When a Shinigami dies, he is either reincarnated or sent to Hell (i'm pretty sure Aizen won't get reincarnated when he dies...)

it's a perfect circle because many Shinigami die, whether while fighting Hollows or in massacres like the Bount, and become human. Human souls that arrive in Soul Society can go to Shinigami School to become Shinigami.

a never ending cycle....
