Yup! I've watched Watenabeshinichi's other work, and they don't make any sense at all. It's all for the comedy.
Don't get me wrong, I love this bizzare and crazed piece of anime, but seriously folks, after you saw the first few episodes, you didn't ask yourself, "what the H-E- double-freakin'- hockey sticks was that all about?!"?
Is that the intention of the creator?![]()

Excel Saga makes PERFECT sense. EVERY minute of it.
Well i think that when its messed up hes having bad problems or he is a little mad or mad i think messed up anime is not good most of the time because its sick.
I've never actually seen this anime, but i will say this. after watching all 6 episodes of FLCL and then actually coming up with a semi decent explanation for all of it, i'd think any anime makes more sense to me now.
Why hello there!
Grumble Grumble Grumble
The thing is, 'Excel Saga' is a parody series, where each episode parodies a different genre of Japanese entertainment. And like most parodies, unless you know something about what is being spoofed, the references will go flying over your head. The original ADV Films release had their ADVidnotes (which enables a superset of sub-titles explaining the cultural references...) which was a big help in understanding this series...
See? It all makes perfect sense! As long as you get the references.
