To kill, or not to kill, Optimus Prime that is!

In the first Transformers movie, in order for Hot Rod to become Rodimus, they had to kill off the big guy first. And in an epic battle against Megatron, they did.

Do you think the creators of the fist generation Transformers should have done that?

HELL NO.
i have the g1 series and ordered the rest of the headmasters dvds. the anime movie was nice except for the beginning, sad- all the cool autobots got killed- ironhide,prime and tons of others. still makes me sad and cry. have to fastforward past it.
i do have that soundtrack on my mp3 player- listening to so of it right now.would like to get more g1 bgm.

It was wrong to let him die by megatrons hand. he should have died in a bout with unicron. Or some other powerful opponent. But megatron. No.

No, because he is a nice robot and he is smart, helpful, and also stong and powerful !
