Well... From my point of view. I think Sasuke is really emo because, he never had a mom and dad and they died when Itachi killed the Uchiha clan. And, he used to wear black. And, he would always brag about "How he wants to store the Uchiha clan and how he wants 2 kill Itachi." He devoted his life for training so, he can kill his brother and he's living with Orochimaru. So, i would suppose his room is lit with candles and he probably cries his self to sleep because, he doesn't have a mom or dad and how's he not powerful to kill Itachi.

I define emos (aka emoholes) as kids who -in a pathetic cry for attention- pretend they're really sad, have existential problems and hurt themselves.

Other people attempt to define it as people wearing a certain fashion of clothes or listening to a certain style of music.


Interestingly enough, Sasuke doesn't meet the criteria for any of these.
Verdict: Not an emohole.

Sasuke is just messed up in the head. Witnessing the slaying of his entire clan made him that way. If he was emo he wouldn't have had the balls to kill Itachi to begin with.

There are basically two kinds of angsty teenagers in anime. You've got the Shinji Ikari's and then you have kids like Sasuke and Kanda from D.Gray-man [the latter being more stereotypical and hilariously unexplained]. It's "OMGWHYAMIHEREICANTDOTHISWHYISDADDYDOINGTHISTOMEWH YWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY!?" versus "I MUST KILL THE ONE THAT HAS HURT ME THE MOST".
