I've never seen all of NGE

I've been hearing tons about Neon Genesis Evangelion, I've seen the image galleries and even the first two episodes of it, but not all of it.

So could someone tell me which dvd collection should i get ?

The regular dvds , or the PLATINUM edition , what's the difference ?

Should i get the anime or the manga ?

I suggest getting the platinum box set if you don't have many other versions already.
The manga is not exactly the same as the anime and goes a lot deeper into some details. It's a very good manga.
Don't forget there are multiple extra releases as well, even some who are still in production.

The End of Evangelion
Death and Rebirth
A live-action film
Rebuild of Evangelion
Revival of Evangelion

There are also 2 manga:
Neon Genesis Evangelion (The mains series)
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days (only loosely connected to the main story)

And the 'Platinum' EVA is now out in a Thin Pack collection!!! The real difference between the regular and the 'Platinum' editions are...

The 'Platinum' edition is based on the Digitally restored 'Evangelion Revival' Edition released in Japan, with improved frame count and re-recored 5.1 sound track.

The 'Platinum' edition also includes the 'Laser Disk' (Director's Cut) edition of the last few episodes, with an addition 4-7 minutes of animation.

And the correct viewing order is...

Episodes 1-24 (If a directors cut version is available for the episode, view that over the regular version)
'Death & Rebirth Movie' (series recap)
'The End of Evangelion' (the replacement for episodes 25-26)

I don't know but I love the anime. I think you should get the anime but the manga starts it all so....I don't know.

Well...the manga was made first then the anime. Hard to believe.

But sometimes the things in the manga wasn't put in the anime. Like DNAngel. They add a girl too much in the beginning when she was suppose to appear at the end.

That's where you're wrong.

For Evangelion the anime came BEFORE the manga, hence my previous post.

The only problem with the Manga version of NGE, is that it took 3 years for Volume 10 to hit the shelves.

Hopefully, its not another 3 years for Volume 11.

you can get them at the mall in suncoast or bestbuy thoses are going to be the best places.
