I keep wondering if Shinji and the others ever defeated Adam. I mean, why keep us wondering. Can someone tell me if they did?

Gendo either eats it or has it grafted to his hand for some ridiculous reason (to bring about second impact intentionally?). In either case: both the angels IN Terminal Dogma are shells.
