Whew, cool! I actually heard rumours about Keanu Reeves wanting a film adaption like that. But to think it's for real now ... I'm really looking forward to it. I hope, it'll leave a better first impression on us than the new Dragonball though.

Agreed, but as a fan of the series it would be a crime for me not to go and sit through it.

That's faulty logic. If it's a true abomination and insulting to the source material why the hell would you support the asshats who made it by going to see it?

I wish they'd gotten someone other than Keanu Reeves for Spike. He's got the scowl but that's about it. Johnny Depp or Christian Bale would have been a better choice. They both exude the kind of charisma and cool Spike has. I just don't see it in Keanu.

The Anime News Network Article states...

The associate producers are Sunrise President Kenji Uchida, the original Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe, and the original series script supervisor Keiko Nobumoto. The Sunrise studio itself and Masahiko Minami (former Sunrise producer and BONES studio co-founder) are both acting as production consultants.

With the original director and script supervisor of the anime series involved in the project, there is at least some hope that the Live Action will be true to the original material...
