A hybrid of a yōkai-dog and a human, a half-demon. He wields a Tetsusaiga (supernatural sword) made from the fangs of one of his ancestors. When used properly, it can kill up to 100 demons in a single swing.
InuYasha can self heal from deep wounds, which would otherwise be fatal on a normal human. Once a month during the night of the new moon, InuYasha changes into a normal human and loses his yōkai power during this time.
A Junior-High School student living in Tokyo at the Sunset Shrine in the year 1997. Kagome is the reincarnation of a priestess named Kikyou, the previous protector of the Shikon no Tama.
A sweet girl, but dangerous when provoked. She can control InuYasha by a necklace of beads placed around his neck.
A low ranking 20-year old monk who travels the countryside performing exorcisms and yōkai exterminations. He often tricks his customers to thinking they are possessed by an evil spirit in order to spend the night and partake in a hearty meal.
His great grandfather was cursed by Naraku to have a black hole in his hand called the "Windtunnel" which sucks up anything in its path. Miroku inherited this curse hence driving him in the search for Naraku.
Like his grandfather, he has a distinct weakness for pretty women, and makes a habit of asking every pretty woman he meets to bear his child.
A yōkai slayer whose weapon is the Hiraikotsu (giant boomerang). Sango is also a victim of Naraku's evil schemes when her family was slain and village destroyed. Naraku tells Sango it was InuYasha who destroyed her village in the hope she will then go after him.
She has feelings towards Miroku even though his constant gropings gives her a bad impression.
A female yōkai-nekomata and Sango's pet. She can change between 2 forms - a ferocious yōkai the size of a car which can fly and the other form a small cute kitten.
She often carries Miroku and Sango as they cannot keep up with the fast pace of InuYasha.
Even though he looks like a cute little 5 year-old boy, he is in fact around 50 years-old. He has lots of little tricks and surprises up his sleeve and is the first character to join InuYasha and Kagome on their journey.
Often cheeky at times, he will receive a slap on his forehead by InuYasha. He is small and so usually rides on someones shoulder saving him the hassles of walking.
An evil half demon spider who is responsible for most of the characters sufferings. Naraku is after the Shikon no Tama in order to become a full yōkai.
