Thread: 2D or 3D anime?

I prefer 2D/traditional animation. If its 3D then it has to be Advent Children quality. The best is the mix of the two. You don't see much anime these day with traditional animation where everything is hand drawn. The only 'modern' anime I can think of that was all done by hand is Scryed.

The bad thing about 3D is, it is hard to imitate human movement naturally. So we always end up seeing unnatural movement of characters in a fully CGed anime and sometimes the voice doesn't match the lip movement of the character. Another con is, it is too time consuming and costly to make it. Look at FF7 AC, it took them 4yrs to make a 101 minute movie which is about an hour or so long.

yea.. the 2D animes produces faster.. and .. can afford to slack once in a while...
imagine if they have a 3D anime and a 2D manga. now how weird will that be? ^_^

2D mostly because Rurouni Kenshin is my fav anime... the the faces arent the same thing in 3D... but u should see appleseed... thats some good 3D anime... I guess in the future well be seing more 3D anime... but I like both....

I perfer 3-D there is more detail to the character like in Final Fantasy. I just like 3-D for some reason. It makes the characters look shiny lol.

I'll go with both, making the characters in 2D(like it best), and adding some 3D effects in some parts of the anime, it can be cool.
But mostly 2D is the best.

Appleseed is 3D unless you think cel-shaded animation is 2D.
